Deviation – User Documentation
Overview
The Deviation module is used to register, track, and resolve deviations (non-conformities, issues, or exceptions) that occur during construction, commissioning, or operational processes. It supports assignment, status tracking, linking to related records, and rich text descriptions and resolutions.
Key Concepts

Deviation: A record of an issue or non-conformity that needs to be tracked and resolved.

Status: The current state of the deviation (e.g., Draft, Identified, Described, In Progress, Resolved, Ready for Verification, Verified, Closed).

Assignment: Deviations can be assigned to users or agents for resolution.
-
Related Record: Deviations can be linked to other records (e.g., checklists, checklist lines) for context.

Rich Text: Both the description and resolution fields support rich text formatting.
Main Pages
1. Deviation List

Purpose: View, filter, and manage all deviations.

Key Fields:

Code: Unique identifier for the deviation.
-
Subject: Short summary of the deviation.
-
Status: Current status of the deviation.
-
Deviation Date: Date when the deviation was registered.
-
Assigned By/To/To Agent: Assignment information.

Due Date: Deadline for addressing the deviation.
-
Reference Number: External or internal reference.
-
Resolution Date: Date when the deviation was resolved.

Related RecordId: Link to a related record (e.g., checklist or checklist line).

Last Modified: Timestamp of last modification.

Open Related Record: Navigate to the linked record for more context.

2. Deviation Card
-
Purpose: View and edit details of a single deviation.
-
Sections:
-
General: Main details (subject, status, assignment, dates, references, related record).

Description: Rich text field for detailed description of the deviation.

Resolution Description: Rich text field for documenting the resolution.

FactBoxes: Show attached documents and system links.

Actions:

Save Description/Resolution: Rich text fields are saved automatically when edited.

3. Deviation Activities
-
Purpose: Dashboard showing counts of deviations by status for the current user and construction agent.
-
Drilldown: Click on a cue to see the filtered list of deviations.
How to Use
Creating a Deviation

Go to NOC Deviation List and select New.
-
Fill in the required fields: Subject, Assigned To, Due Date, etc.

Optionally, link the deviation to another record using the Related RecordId field.
-
Enter a detailed description in the Description rich text field.
Assigning and Tracking
-
Assign deviations to users or agents using the Assigned To and Assigned To Agent fields.

Track progress using the Status field.
-
Use the Deviation Activities dashboard to monitor your assigned deviations.
Resolving a Deviation
-
Enter the resolution in the Resolution rich text field.
-
Set the Resolution Date (automatically set when resolution is entered).
-
Change the Status as the deviation progresses through its lifecycle.
Linking to Other Records
-
Use the Related RecordId field to link a deviation to another record (e.g., a checklist or checklist line).

The Table No. and Table Caption fields are automatically updated based on the related record.

Status Values

Draft: Deviation is being prepared.

Identified: Deviation has been identified.

Described: Deviation has been described in detail.

In Progress: Work is ongoing to resolve the deviation.

Resolved: Deviation has been resolved.

Ready for Verification: Resolution is ready to be verified.

Verified: Resolution has been verified.

Closed: Deviation is closed.
Tips
-
Use filters on the Deviation List to quickly find deviations by status, assignment, or due date.

Use the Deviation Activities dashboard for a quick overview of your workload.

Always update the status and resolution fields as work progresses for accurate tracking.
Security & Permissions

Only users with appropriate permissions can create, edit, or assign deviations.

Assignment fields are validated against user and agent tables.
Troubleshooting
-
If you cannot see or edit a deviation, check your permissions and assignment.

If the Related RecordId is not set, ensure you are linking to a valid record.
