Setup Commissioning Management System
Enable Commissioning Management System
To be able to see any of the actions, fields and use the functionality added to Business Central by Commissioning Management System you will need to enable the app.
Choose the icon
, enter Commissioning Management System Setup, and then choose the related link.
On the General FastTab, turn on the Enable Commissioning Management System toggle.
Log out of Business Central and in again for the actions and fields to become visible in the user interface.
Setup Commissioning Management System
To setup Commissioning Management System follow these steps.
Choose the icon
, enter Commissioning Management System Setup, and then choose the related link.
On the Default Values FastTab, configure the required fields that are related to construction entity and construction complex.
Field | Description |
---|---|
Construction Entity Separator | Specifies the character that will be used to separate the construction entity code. Default value is (.). The code for a construction entity uses this separator to difference between parent and child entity. The code E1.AD1 is the defining that the entity E1 is the parent entity for the AD1 entity. |
First Serial No. | Specifies the first serial number that will be used for the number series. Default value is "001". This is used when the system is automatically creating serial number for an entity or a component. |
On the Default No. Series Values FastTab, configure the required fields that are related to numbering of construction objects. Number series are used to give construction objects automatic code when created.

On the Class Code Filters FastTab, configure the required fields that are related to numbering of construction entity and construction complex. Class code filters are used to filter information from the classification list when looking up information form pages.

Construction Entity Class Code | Specifies the value of the construction entity class code for the classification system. |
Built Space Class Code | Specifies the value of the built space class code for the classification system. |
Functional System Class Code | Specifies the value of the functional system class code for the classification system. |
Technical System Class Code | Specifies the value of the technical system class code for the classification system. |
Construction Components Class Code | Specifies the value of the construction components class code for the classification system. |
Register Class Codes for the classification system
The class codes are used to group the codes of the classification system. A class code is a group of construction entities.
To register the class codes used by the classification system do the following:

On the page that comes up enter the code and description for the different categories that you have.

Code | Specifies the code for this group in the classification system. |
Description | Specifies the description for this group in the classification system. |
Register the Classification System
The goal of the classification system is providing structured and standardized classification system for organizing and managing information in construction and engineering projects.
To register the class codes used by the classification system do the following:
Choose the icon
, enter Classification System, and then choose the related link.
On the page that comes up enter the class code, level 1 to 4 and other fields required for the different classification codes that you have.
Field | Description |
---|---|
Class Code | Specifies the class code that this class belongs to. |
Level 1 | Specifies the level 1 of the class. |
Level 2 | Specifies the level 2 of the class. |
Level 3 | Specifies the level 3 of the class. |
Level 4 | Specifies the level 4 of the class. |
Term | Specifies the class short name in English. This is a key name that is used for referencing when description for a short name is needed. In some cases, this field combines the description and has a longer representation. If a long name is used, no additional definition is given. |
Definition | Specifies the class description. This describes the short name Term in a more specific way. Sometimes left blank when a short name is using a longer version already. |
Examples | Specifies the examples for a class/sub-class. Supports the Definition field and can be an extension to the definition given. Can hold example notes. Not always used. |
Tags | Specifies the tags that are used to categorize and identify this class. Tags make it easier to find and lookup class to use in the system. |
Register Floors
It is possible to register floors for buildings, spaces, and systems.
To register the floors used in construction entities do the following:

, enter Floors, and then choose the related link.
On the page that comes up enter the code and description the different floors that you have.

Description | Specifies the description for this floor. |
Register Zones
It is possible to register zones for buildings, spaces, and systems.
To register the zones used in construction entities do the following:

On the page that comes up enter the code and description the different zones that you have.

Description | Specifies the description for this zone. |
Construction Agents
It is possible to register construction agents for systems.
To register the construction agent used in technical system or functional system do the following:

On the page that comes up enter the code and description the different construction agents that you have.

Code | Specifies the code for this construction agent. |
Description | Specifies the description for this construction agent. |
System Functions
It is possible to register system functions for technical systems and functional systems. The system function describes a sub functionality of the system.
To register the system function used in technical systems or functional systems do the following:

, enter System functions, and then choose the related link.
On the page that comes up enter the code and description the different system functions that you have.
Field | Description |

Code | Specifies the code for this system function. |
Description | Specifies the description for this system function. |
User access to construction entity type and construction entity
It is possible to limit user access to defined set of construction entity type or construction entity.
To define the user access to construction entity, do the following:
Choose the icon
, enter Users, and then choose the related link.
On the page that comes up select the user that you want to define the access for. Open the User Card.
Under the tab Construction Entity Access, choose the action Assign Access. It will open the page Assign Construction Entity Access List.
On the page mark the construction entity type and the construction entity that the user should have access to.

For the limited access to work the user must have one of the permission set NOC ESSENTIAL LIM or NOC TEAM MEMBER LIM.
User construction agent role
It is possible to define one or more construction agent role for the user in the system. The roles are used to filter cues and list for the user
To define the user construction agent role, do the following:
Choose the icon
, enter Users Setup, and then choose the related link.
On the page that comes up select the lookup (…) for the field Construction Agent Filter that you want to define the role for. A lookup list is displayed where you can select one or more role for the user.
